1. Who we are

This policy explains how Prospark AE Pty Ltd (ACN 679 577 694, ABN 64 580 533 512), trading as Prospark Auto Electrics ("we", "us"), handles personal information. Our workshop is at 1/244 Treasure Road, Welshpool WA 6106.

We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote, carry out and follow up your job. That usually means:

your name, phone number and email address
your vehicle's make, model, registration and VIN
details of the work you want done, and notes and photos about the job
invoices, payment records and warranty records
for fleet customers, the contact details of the person managing the account

We don't need, and won't ask for, sensitive information such as health or financial account details.

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you fill in the quote form on this website, phone or email us, message us on Facebook or Instagram, or drop your vehicle at the workshop. If a fleet manager or another person books a vehicle in for you, we may receive your details from them.

4. How we use it

to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote
to book in, carry out and invoice your job
to contact you about your vehicle, including when it's ready and if we find extra work it needs
to handle warranty claims on parts and workmanship
to keep the business and vehicle records we're required to keep by law

We'll only send you promotional messages if you've agreed to receive them, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it where it's needed to do your job or run the business:

Website form service: quote requests sent through this website are delivered to our inbox by a third-party form service (Web3Forms).
Suppliers and manufacturers: when we need to make a warranty claim on a part fitted to your vehicle.
Fleet account holders: job and invoice details for vehicles booked in under a fleet account.
Our advisers and service providers: such as our accountant and IT or email providers, who only use it to provide their services to us.
When the law requires it: for example, to a government agency or court.

6. This website

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and you don't need an account to use it.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed, so we can improve the site. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect your name or contact details, and doesn't track you across other websites. It only gives us overall figures, such as how many people visited and which pages were most popular.

To display the page, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and our location map from Google Maps. Like any website, those services can receive basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type. Their use of it is covered by Google's privacy policy.

To stop spam, the quote form uses hCaptcha, a "prove you're human" check provided through our form service. hCaptcha may collect technical information such as your IP address and how you interact with the check. Its use of that information is covered by hCaptcha's privacy policy.

Our supplier logos link to those brands' own websites. We don't control those sites, so please check their privacy policies.

7. Information stored overseas

Some of the services we use, such as our form service, email provider and Google, may store information on servers outside Australia. We choose reputable providers and only share what's needed for the service they provide.

8. Photos of our work

We photograph installs and repairs to record the work and, sometimes, to show on our website and social media. We cover number plates and won't name or identify you in a published photo without your permission. If you'd rather your vehicle isn't photographed for publishing, just let us know.

9. Storage, security & retention

We keep your information in our business systems and email, protected with passwords and limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We keep records for as long as we need them for the job, warranty and our legal and tax obligations. After that, we securely delete or destroy them.

10. Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Contact us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to confirm your identity first. If we can't give you access for a legal reason, we'll explain why.
